NORVASC® (amlodipine besylate) can be taken once a day, with or without food and with most drinks—even grapefruit juice. Be sure to take it as your healthcare provider has instructed.
Tips for Taking NORVASC
- Do not take more than 1 dose of NORVASC at a time
- If you take more NORVASC than your healthcare provider has instructed, call him or her right away
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember
- If it has been more than 12 hours since you missed your last dose, wait and take the next dose at your regular time
- If you take nitroglycerin for angina, don’t stop taking it while you are taking NORVASC. You can use nitroglycerin and NORVASC together
NORVASC can be taken with a variety of other medicines as well. This includes other drugs used to treat high blood pressure. While you are taking NORVASC, do not start or stop taking your other medicines including any other blood pressure medicines, without talking to your healthcare provider.
